  I have been a patient for at least 15 years. She is a great listener and very compassionate. I have recommended her to other people and they have been very happy with Dr. Halpern and her staff.

  I am not one to write reviews, but our experience here was so incredibly bad that I felt it was necessary so others could avoid wasting their time. I took my daughter to Dr. Halpern for ADD issues, and after scheduling an appointment (which had to be made several weeks in advance), she spent roughly five minutes with us, and didn't even speak to my daughter or even look her in the eyes. Her demeanor is that of an extremely cold and unfriendly person- the very last person you would want giving guidance to a child. At that meeting we were told that my daughter would need to go through a computerized test, and that we would be called to schedule it. After two weeks of hearing nothing from this office (with both my husband and I leaving messages at least twice a week), we finally got the appointment, where my daughter sat in front of a computer and clicked a button for fifteen minutes. Afterwards, we were once again told that someone would call us to schedule another appointment. Same results- despite repeated messages, it took the office several weeks to get back to us. When we finally got in for the third appointment, the Doctor actually rebuked me for not having a form that her staff was supposed to have given me, and proceeded to see another patient before us (we had already been waiting for an hour). When we got in, she had the audacity to ask why we were even there (she can't be bothered to know anything about her patients whatsoever). Once I told her, she went and got a sheaf of papers, flipped through them for a second, and said "Your daughter doesn't have ADD", and then just looked at me blankly. When I asked her what she thought the issue might be, she had me repeat the symptoms she has been having, then said that she could have a neurologist contact us, if we like. Because I felt that she was definitely just trying to push us out the door as fast as she could (we had already paid, you see- so what use did she have with us now?), I asked her why this information, as terse as it was, couldn't have been provided over the phone. Her reply was that she liked to go over the results with her clients, so I asked her to go over that information with us. She was completely taken aback, flipped through the paperwork once more, and then just said, "she only scored ADD on a few of the questions" (with this complete deer in headlights look). Realizing I was wasting my family's time- I left. Don't make the same mistake I did- avoid this woman and her office.

  Dr Halpern usually spends 2 minutes with me. it takes that long because that's how long it takes to print out scripts and sign them. Her demeanor is that of someone with no emotions and no feelings. When I told her what my therapist diagnosed me with (after multiple visits and in depth conversations) she told me he was incompetent and didn't know what he was talking about. Although when I went away to a treatment center and was diagnosed with the same thing, she still felt the place I went to was incompetent. I have never met someone so cold and rude. if you ask her questions she asks why you are arguing with her and then says she needs to see you sooner than the three month mark. When I told her about going home (to hometown) for a funeral and my struggles with my severe anxiety she recommended I just not go. I told her how close I was to this person and she shrugged. she told me to have 911 handy then and that she would see me at my next appointment. I told her I didn't think there would be one as I could not take her 2 minute visits and no changes in anything when I tell her what I am on is not helping and her coldness about the funeral as if I just told her I was going home to go shopping or to see a circus or something... she treats you as if you are a waste of her time. she took me deciding to go see someone else as a temper tantrum and said i needed to get over it. she then hung up. I am shocked at how incompetent and also uncompassionate she is.
